Speaker: Li Chun

About the speaker:

Li Chun is a professor at Case Western Reserve University in the US. He has nearly 20 years of experience in scientific research and cooperation. The main areas of his research are statistical genetics and biostatistics, and the areas of his collaboration include Type II diabetes, breast cancer, ophthalmologic diseases, pharmacogenetics, etc. His work on statistical methods is mainly on ordered data methods and robust statistical methods, and has been published in top journals such as JASA, Biometrika and Biometrics. One of his articles in 2016 won the Canadian Statistical Annual Paper Award. His work in statistical genetics spans from linkage analysis, genome-wide association analysis to high-throughput sequencing experimental design and analysis, and has been published in top journals such as American Journal of Human Genetics, Genetic Epidemiology, and Bioinformatics. His cooperation articles have been published in top journals such as Nature Genetics, AJHG, and Nature Communications. His first author articles were published in Blood and PLoS Genetics. His current work includes machine learning for the study of Alzheimer’s disease, EHRs and Hi-C. He now teaches graduate courses –Machine Learning and Data Miningevery year.
