About the Speaker

Dr. Yin Runsheng graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Forest Resource Economics. He is a lifelong associate professor in the Department of Forestry and Resource Economics at Michigan State University. He is also a core member of the Center for Asian Studies and the Center for International Development Studies. He was the director of the Institute for Ecosystem Policy. He is the associate editor of Forest Science, a member of the editorial board of Forest Policy and Economics, and a guest editor of Environmental Management. He is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Economic Association, and the Society of American Foresters. He has undertaken more than 30 research projects and has published more than 60 papers in internationally renowned journals such as Forest Policy and Economics, World Development, Forest Science, Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, and Canadian journal of Forest Research. His research interests include forestry economics and management, resource and environmental economic policies, and land economics.
