About the Speaker

Professor Cheng Wenlong is a tenured professor of chemical engineering at Monash University, Australia. He received his bachelor’s degree from Jilin University in 1999 and his Ph.D. from the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2005. He received the President Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the National Outstanding Doctoral Dissertations Award in 2003 and 2007 respectively. From 2005 to 2006, he worked as a Humboldt scholar at the Max Planck Institute for Microstructure Physics in Germany. From 2006 to 2010, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Bioengineering and Environmental Engineering at Cornell University in the United States. In 2010, he joined Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. Professor Cheng focuses his research on nano-bio interface, DNA nanotechnology, nano-anticancer treatment and electronic skin. Up to now, Professor Cheng has published more than 100 high-level papers in many world-renowned journals, including Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Materials, Nature Communication, Advance Materials, Angewandte Chemie International Edition etc. Currently he works as the editor of the Inorganic Chemistry Communication (Elsevier) and the editor of the iScience (cell press).
