Title: Grafting Photo-reactive Copolymers to Cellulose Fibers for the Design of Microfluidic Papers — Synthesis, Characterization and Applications
Speaker: Alexander Boehm
Venue: Room 604, Gongcheng Building
Time: 9.30 a.m. April 20, 2017
About the Speaker
Alexander Boehm was born in 1982. His doctoral study was at the Institute for Macromolecular Chemistry and Paper Chemistry, Technische Universität Darmstadt. He did his post-doctoral research at Merck KGaA, Darmstadt. He specializes in macromolecular chemistry, paper chemistry, and the study on functional paper. He modifies the nature of paper by feasibly utilizing multifunctional polymers to produce multifunctional fiber materials. He is the first person to elaborate on the synthesis of photosensitive group (benzophenone) and paper (fiber), and put it into practical application. He has published over 20 academic papers of high quality and obtained several patents, some of which have been rolled into preproduction environment by relevant enterprises in Germany.
