About the Reporter
Dr. Peter Eric Gasson, who got his Ph.D. degree inDepartment of Botany (Wood Science and Technology), Imperial College, UK, is currently a member of the Science Department of the Kew Park of the Royal Botanic Gardens and a member of the International Committee of Wood Anatomy. He mainly engages in the field of anatomy and identification research work of tree and wood in the background of systems and species protection, and his current research interests are mainly the rubber (oak) trees, mahogany, rosewood and ebony and the protection and international trade of other valuable species, as well as research to address specific issues related to species conservation, such as the sustainable use of fuel wood in arid areas and urban development, and the impact of urban trees on nearby buildings. Related research results are published in International Journals such asPlant, Cell and Environment, IAWA JournalandAustralian Journal of Botany.
