Gu Jiacun, male, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Master’s Supervisor, received his Bachelor’s Degree at NEFU in 2002 and Doctoral Degree in Forest Cultivation at NEFU in 2011. His research orientation is the Theory and Technology of Artificial Forest Cultivation and Physiological Ecology of Tree Roots. At present, there are 6 postgraduates under his supervision. Dr. Gu Jiacun teaches the courseIntroduction to Silviculturefor the undergraduates of Forest Conservation and Forestry Majors. In the recent 5 years, Dr. Gujiacun has undertaken 5 programs including the programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Natural Science Foundation of Heilongjiang Province of China, the sub-project of the Science and Technology Support Program of the National Twelfth Five-Year Plan and the sub-project of the National Key Research and Development Program of China, participated in 1 program of the National Basic Research Program (973 Program), published 22 academic papers, 9 of which have been indexed in SCI, 5 rated as A+, 4 SCI papers as first author or corresponding author (3 in Section 1) and co-edited 2 textbooks. From February 2016 to February 2017, Dr. Gu Jiacun conducted a study visit in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Cornell University.

Title:Influence of Burning on the Forest Ecosystem in the North

Xin Ying, female, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Master’s Supervisor, graduated and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Sciences at NEFU in 2002, Master’s Degree and Doctoral Degree in Soil Conservation and Desertification Control at NEFU in July 2005 and July 2011 respectively. Since she started working, Dr. Xin Ying has been engaged in the teaching and research on Forestry Ecological Engineering. She has undertaken 1 program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 1 research program of the Science and Technology Program of the National Twelfth Five-Year Plan, 1 program of the National Forestry Public Welfare Research Program of China, 1 program of the Fundamental Research Fund for the Central Universities, participated the research on the programs of National Natural Science Foundation of China, Key Science Programs of Heilongjiang province, the sub-project of the Forestry Science and Technology Support Program and the Science and Technology Program of Harbin. Dr. Xin Ying won the First Prize and the Third Prize of the Heilongjiang Science and Technology Progress Award, the Second Prize of the Distinguished Teaching Award of Heilongjiang province, published more than 30 academic papers and 4 textbooks as Editor-in-Chief or coeditor. From February 2016 to February 2017, Dr. Xin Ying conducted a study visit in Purdue University.
