Venue: Room 722(Conference Room), Chengdong Building

About the Reporter

Zhu Quanmin is a professor at the University of the West of England. In September 1989, he received his doctoral degree from the University of Warwick. From September 1989 to November 1994, he did his postdoctoral research in the Department of Automatic Control and Systematic Engineering of the University of Sheffield. His research focuses on the analysis and identification of nonlinear systems. He is the founder and chief editor of theInternational Journal of Modelling, Identification and Control, chief editor of theInternational Journal of Computer Applications in Technology, editorial editor of theInternational Journal of Systems Science,International Journal of Advanced Mechatronic Systems, andDefense Technologyetc. He is also the founder and chairman of the International Conference on Modelling, Identification and Control, and the founder and former chairman of the Chinese Automation Society in the UK. He works as the Appraisal Committee member of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), member of the British Federation of Engineering Professors, member of the International Federation of Automatic Control, and member of the tenth Specialized Committee of Control Theory of the Chinese Society of Automation. In 1999 Zhu Quanmin was invited by the Chinese government to attend the 50th Anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China on the Tiananmen reviewing stand.

Title 3: Stability Study on Weighted Multi-model Adaptive Control

Reporter: Zhang Weicun

Time: 10.30-11.30 a.m., July 20, 2017

Venue: Room 722(Conference Room), Chengdong Building

About the Reporter

Zhang Weicun is the professor at the College of Automation of the University of Science and Technology. He is also the Director of China Society of Artificial Intelligence, Secretary General of the Specialized Committee of Intelligent Aerospace System, and Deputy Director of the Specialized Committee of Intelligent Instrumented systems Modeling and Simulation under the China Simulation Society. In 1993, he obtained his doctoral degree of Control Theory and Application from the Department of Automation of Tsinghua University. From 1993 to 2000, he worked as the engineer engaging in technology development in the China International Science Center under the State Science and Technology Commission. From 1997 to 1998, he was the visiting research fellow in the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Michigan. He was a visiting professor at the School of Computer and Electrical Engineering of the Seoul National University from 2006 to 2007. His research fields include establishing a unified virtual equivalent systematic theory to analyze the stability, convergence and robustness of adaptive control systems, and proving the stability of the weighted multi- model adaptive control system. He won the second prize of scientific technology progress granted by the State Education Commission due to his study on the combined self-correcting control on papermaking machines. He also translated seven books with others, hosted or participated in about ten major or general projects sponsored by the National Natural Science Foundation, published more than 120 papers including more than 60 papers indexed by the three greatest retrieval systems of the world.
