About the Speaker
Gao Xiquan obtained his bachelor degree from Anhwei Normal University, master degree from Nanjing Agricultural University, and doctoral degree from Hokkaido University in Japan. He did postdoctoral research and later worked as an assistant research scientist in Texas A&M University of the United States. In April 2013, he was introduced as a high-level talent into the National Key Laboratory of Crop Genetics and Germplasm Innovation in Nanjing Agricultural University. At present, he hosts the projects sponsored by the National Natural Science Foundation, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Scientific Research Foundation of the Ministry of education for Returned Overseas Students, and participated in the research of the projects sponsored by the National Key Research and Development Plan of the Ministry of Science and Technology. His research focuses on genetic breeding of disease resistance molecules in maize, and molecules with innate immunity and its biochemical mechanisms in plants. His research findings have been published in Nature Communications, PLoS Pathogens, The Plant Journal, MPMI, and Frontiers in Plant Sciences etc.
