Brief Introduction

Automation aims to cultivate advanced technical talents with a solid background in automatic control theory, computer control and simulation, modern control theory, computer network technology, industrial process control etc. who can fill positions in design, development, manufacturing, commissioning, operating and management, teaching and scientific research in the fields of control engineering and industrial automation in enterprises, universities, scientific research institutes etc.

Characteristics

1. Automation was recognized as a Heilongjiang provincial key program during China’s 11th Five-Year Plan and 12th Five-Year Plan periods and is one of the first group of programs given a top priority of construction at NEFU. It is authorized to grant Bachelor’s Degrees in Engineering, Master’s Degrees in Engineering (Academic and Professional), and Doctoral Degrees and is listed on the NEFU Engineering Education Accreditation Program.

2. Automation has a reasonably structured, high-quality, experienced and innovative teaching and scientific research faculty team. 92.8% of the teachers hold Ph.D.s and over 20% have overseas study experiences. It offers 10 university-level key courses and won 2 first and 3 second place prizes for Heilongjiang Provincial Teaching Achievements Awards.

3. Automation has wonderful experimental conditions. It has 8 bases for teaching, research and practical training and has built good relationships with many large or medium sized enterprises and institutes in China, such as Suzhou Boshi Robot Technology Co., Ltd., Shanghai TJ Innova Engineering & Technology Co., Ltd., AirTAC (China) International Group, Acheng Relay Co., Ltd., BBMG Tiantan Furniture Co., Ltd., Shandong Taikai Group etc.

4. Automation provides promising opportunities for students to further their studies. Those students excellent in achievements and quality will be recommended to go abroad as exchange students or will be recommended for degrees to key universities listed on the national “985” and “211” projects.

Ltd., Beijing Jingdiao Group Co. Ltd., Hongyunhonghe Tobacco Group Company Limited, Wuxi Little Swan Company Limited, OPPEIN Home Group Inc., Communication & Network Solution Business Group, BYD Company Limited etc.

Specialists’ View

Automation technology is widely used in industry, agriculture, military, scientific research, transportation, commerce, Medicare, service and family etc. It greatly helps improve productivity and extend human ability to interact with the world, and it has been a symbol for the modernization of a country’s industry, agriculture, national defense and science and technology. Students in Automation shall first learntheories and conceptsin Mathematics, Electricity, measurement and control and then focus on one direction among motion control, process control, measurement and instrumentation, power electronics, electronics and computer technology, information processing, modern integrated manufacturing. Automation at NEFU is multi-directional. It is a key program at university level as well as at provincial level. Automation is open to all those perspective applicants with a solid background in Mathematics and Physics and a strong interest in automatic control.

About the Specialist

Professor Wang Keqi is a Ph.D. Supervisor, and Leader of the First Level Discipline of Control Science and Engineering. He has hosted and participated in 10 state-level projects, and published over 40 papers and 5 books.

Students’ View

Automation at NEFU is a multi-disciplinary and multi-directional program. It has a characteristic curriculum system and has emphases in integrating coursework with abundant activities. It has established many opportunities for students to carry out various innovative competitions. With daily trainings and various competitions in science and technology, students can enhance their ability to tackle problems, deepen their understanding of Automation and thus have a solid foundation for their future development.
