Recently, the 6th Russian Contest themed “Russian--A Song in My Heart” for students from Northeast China and Russian Far East was held in Heilongjiang University, Harbin, China. A total of more than 80 college students participated in the contest. After fierce competition and under the guidance of their Russian teacher Ye Qing, the students from the Russian Department, College of Foreign Languages, won the “Special Jury Award”.

Sponsored by the Russian World Foundation and Blagoveshchensk National Normal University, this contest was an important event in the field of education and culture between China and Russia. With “Outer Space” as the theme of the contest, the students competed in areas of dramatic presentation, national knowledge, impromptu dialogue, captain speeches and song, during which public class, handicraft class and other Russian teaching activities were presented.

The NEFU team consisted of Li Mengyi, Wang Yuqing and Xia Lin from Grade 2013, Xu Weijiao and Zhou Danyu from Grade 2014, and Yan Weijia from Grade 2015. Their vivid and interesting performances and rich language knowledge gained the favor and recognition of both the Chinese and Russian judges, staff and spectators, and finally won the highly valuable “Special Jury Award”.
