On the afternoon of May 22, Vice President Li Bin met with Terry Shake, Dean of the College of Forestry Resources and Environmental Sciences, Michigan Technological University, in the conference room 808 of the Administration Building. Three other teachers from Michigan Technological University, Li Fengri, Dean of the College of Forestry, Sun Zhiping, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Office, and the relevant persons in charge of the International Cooperation Office and College of Forestry attended the meeting.
On behalf of the university, Vice President Li Bin welcomed the delegation from Michigan Technological University, and introduced NEFU’s history, teaching and research, talent training, and international cooperation and exchanges to the guests. He expressed the hope that, through this opportunity, the two universities would advance their international cooperation in the scientific research of forestry development, explore areas of cooperation, explore the joint training of undergraduates, graduate students, and doctoral students, cooperatively build laboratories, and pay attention to the international forefront of forestry ecology.Vice President Li Bin said that this visit will certainly bring the depth of forestry research to a new level, and he also hoped that the two universities would deepen their friendship and make common progress.
Terry Shake, Dean of the College of Forestry Resources and Environmental Sciences at the Michigan Technological University, expressed his gratitude for NEFU’s hospitality. Lin Long, Deputy Dean of the College of Forestry, introduced the history, staff organization, and teaching and research of College of Forestry with detail to the guests. The two sides also discussed the specific details on cooperation.
After the discussion, Dean Terry Shark signed a cooperation agreement with Li Fengri, Dean of the College of Forestry. The two sides will cooperate in students and researchers exchange and communication, and will promote cross-cultural research activities.
