In order to promote teaching,learning and scientific research in related areas, the College of Civil Engineering invited the general engineer of ATKINS, Professor Li Chengyu from the College of Engineering and Applied Science, University of Colorado Boulder to visit and give lectures from May 21 to June 4, 2017. This visit was funded by the International Cooperation Office. From May 22 to 27, Professor Li Chenyu gave lectures on the theme ofStructural Dynamics and Seismic Designfor part of young teachers, PhD students, international students and postgraduates from the College of Civil Engineering. Through six consecutive days of lectures, teachers and students understood the research and teachingofengineering in depth. During the two-week visit, Professor Li Chengyu also conducted research discussions with many teachers, participated in research project exchangesand supervision of dissertations.

Professor Li Chengyu is the editor oftheACI material magazine and a member of ACI, ASCE, AISC, and SEI. He has been engaged in the bridge system research, development, consulting, and design for more than 20 years. Since NEFU and the University of Colorado-Boulder signedacooperation agreement in 2011, the two sides have established a good exchange and cooperativerelationship. Exchange visits by teachers and researchers, international students joint training projects, scientific research exchanges, academic seminars and many other activities have been carried out . Professor Li Chengyu's visit consolidated the achievements of cooperation between the two universities.
