From May 29^thto June 2^nd, the Fourth World Landslide Forum(WLF4), whose theme was “Landslide Disaster Research and Disaster Reduction of Promoting the Culture of Coexisting with Disasters,” was held by the International Plan for Landslide -Global Promotion Committee (IPL-GPC), the International Consortium on Landslides (ICL), Universitas Labacensis and theSloveniaGeological Survey, together at theCulture and Convention Center in Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia. At the opening ceremony, Secretary-general Irina Bokova,a representative from UNESCO, the Minister of the Earth And the Biosphere and  Chairman of IPL-GPC, Han Qunli, the Third Chairman of ICL, Yin Yueping and the Executive Chairman of WLF4, Majas Mikko, made speeches respectively.

This forum is supported and valued by UNESCO and INISDR. Professor Shan Wei and Dr. Guo Ying of NEFU were chosen to be the members of International Scientific Committee in this forum. The NEFUCold Regions Science and Engineering Research College won the title of “2017-2020 GCOE in Landslide Disaster Alleviation”, and the Vice President, Dr. Guo Ying, from that college who is in charge of the project called “Decision of Landslide on the Basis ofSurface Plants Different Distribution and Temperature Differences” qualified to establish the project of IPL-203. 20 government and nongovernmental organizations were given the title of “GCOE in Landslide Disaster Alleviation” in this forum.
