Recently, the 2017 “Renesas Cup” National Undergraduate Electronic Design Contest started in the divisions in China. There were 14,406 teams from 1,066 universities, among which 772 were from Heilongjiang province. NEFU had a total of 40 teams participating in the competition, and won 3 national second prizes, 5 provincial first prizes, 11 provincial second prizes, 4 provincial third prizes, and 4 successful competition awards. This is our best record ever since our university started taking part in the competition.

The National Undergraduate Electronic Design Contest was held by the Ministry of Education and sponsored by Renesas Electronics Corporation (China). This event is one of the college students’ contests of the highest level held by the Ministry of Education. Its purpose is to promote the reform of the information and electronic sciences courses. It contributes to the education for all-around development and helps to cultivate the innovation consciousness among college students. It can also improve students’ ability to perform electronic design on practical problems.

The excellent results reflect that the talents training of NEFU conform to the development trends of new technologies. Taking the contest as a breakthrough point, NEFU has enhanced the professional skills and practical abilities of students, and developed the students’ innovation consciousness, laying a solid foundation for talent training in our university.
