When near the Mid-Autumn Festival, the retired centenarian of NEFU, Zhou Wenlin would be 101 years old. On Sept.26th morning, the Vice Secretary of CPC and Secretary of Discipline Inspection Commission, Zhang Fengbin, Vice Section chief, Xu Yan and other people visited his home and extended their congratulations.

Zhou Wenlin is a retired worker of NEFU Machinery Plant, and he is a witness of NEFU’s 65-year course. Mr.Zhou is in good health at present. He was very pleasure to face visitors. And also, he shook hands and took pictures with the Vice Secretary, Lin Haibo.

At his youngest son’ home where locates in NEFU dependent's area, the Vice Secretary, Lin Haibo asked the condition of Zhou Wenlin’s health and life. “When did you retire?” “How is your health condition?” After knowing his condition of body and life, the Vice Secretary, Lin Haibo said that Mr.Zhou’s positive attitude and healthy lifestyle were the secret to live a long life. He wished Mr.Zhou could keep healthy and live longer. The Vice Secretary, Lin Haibo, also asked Mr.Zhou whether needed a favor from NEFU or not. The two sons of Zhou Wenlin said NEFU’s welfare was so good that there wasn’t any trouble.

“My father drew lines for doors and windows of Main Building and Jixie Building during the early period of founding NEFU.” “I graduated since 1990, and I majored in Forestry Economy. My second elder brother just retired from NEFU Engineering Company and my fourth elder brother works at NEFU Security Office.” After listening, Lin Haibo sighed the emotion, because the aged people of NEFU not only devoted their youth, but also brought up their children to be pillars of NEFU, which make NEFU spirit be lasting.

For extending sincere wishes, Lin Haibo and other staff give Zhou Wenlin a beautiful fruit basket and a “Birthday Card” prepared by NEFU Labor Union.

“More and more aged people of NEFU will become centenarians. Many of them are nearly 100 years old.” According to Secretary of Discipline Inspection Commission in Retirement Office, Zhang Fengbin, NEFU has 1075 retirees at present. Although Zhou Wenlin is the only centenarian, 340 aged people are over 80 years old. From 1998 to 2016, the average life of NEFU’s retirees increased from 73 to 82.6. 

These years, NEFU has published a series of reform measures. For the aged, NEFU implements welfare of politics and life, perfects medical security system, improves campus environment, accelerates the establishment of public service system and etc. They share the achievements of NEFU’s development and increase sense of security, belonging and happiness.
