In recent days, the first batch of 1000 packs of rice from Tailai County purchased by the Logistics Service Company of NEFU has been delivered to Jiandeyuan, one of the dining halls of NEFU, launching the initiative of poverty-relief via consumption.

At the beginning of this autumn semester, with the aim of responding to the appeal of providing poverty relief assistance to Tailai County announced by the CPC Party Committee of NEFU and figuring out the strategic focus of this initiative, the chief leaders of both Party and administration of the Logistics Service Company of NEFU , under the guidance of Li Shunlong, vice president of NEFU, conducted a field inspection in Tailai County and determined to take the initiative of poverty-relief via consumption. 2000 packs of rice produced by Yunqiao Rice Co., Ltd. in the impoverished Tailai County were purchased as the staple food for NEFU students, which will further facilitate the advancement of NEFU poverty relief initiative.

Since the CPC Party Committee of NEFU announced the designated poverty relief initiative in 2006, the leading group of both Party and administration of the Logistics Service Company of NEFU has attached great importance to this initiative with a wide range of measures including providing free training for chefs and supermarket cashiers who come from Tailai County and offering positions like tally clerks and salespersons in supermarkets as well as servants in dining halls.

At present, the rest of 1000 packs of “Relief Rice” are on the way to NEFU. The Logistics Service Company of NEFU is determined to take innovative and appropriate approach to implement the  initiative of poverty relief via consumption, gradually intensifying the poverty relief endeavor and launching characteristic modes with its own distinctive edges.
