On the afternoon of December 15, the report on the investigation on the internationalization of China's higher education and the certification of the quality of studying in China was held in Beijing. At the conference, the second batch of pilot institutions for the quality certification for study in China was released. Our school has successfully passed the quality certification for study in China.

In order to promote the healthy and orderly development of international student education in China and establish and improve the quality assurance system for international students studying in China, the International Department of the Ministry of Education commissioned the China Education Association for International Exchanges to launch a quality certification for international students studying in China in March 2015, and announced the “Quality certification index system of study in China of higher education institutions." The system carries out the quality certification of international student education in participating universities and colleges from the guiding ideology of running a school, the teaching facilities, teaching construction, education management, students activities, quality and influence of the school, as well as the characteristics of the school, and implements work principles of “enlarging scales, optimizing structure, normalizing management and ensuring quality” of the Ministry of Education to enhance the quality of international student education in China.

NEFU signed a contract in Beijing on October 20, 2016 to become one of the second batch of pilot institutions for the quality certification of China's university and college admission for international students.Since signing the contract, our school has set up a leading group for quality certification for international student education in China. We have conscientiously carried out self-assessment and self-examination, and thoroughly analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of international student education in our school. Following the principle of promoting reforms and construction by self-assessment, we constantly regulate the teaching management of international students to strengthen the conditions for hosting foreign students. This past June, certified experts visited our school to conduct a comprehensive investigation and assessment of the international student education in our school. NEFU was highly recognized by the experts. After going through several steps of self-evaluation and self-examination, submitting self-assessment reports and support materials, expert communication review, site visits, and centralized assessment, 35 colleges and universities including our school, Zhejiang University, Shandong University, and Northwestern Polytechnical University passed the audit, becoming the second batch to achieve access to quality certification of China's university and college admission for international students.

The quality certification for study in China has promoted the development of overseas study education in our school and laid the foundation for our school to carry out international education in a scientific and standardized manner in the future. Our school will continue to explore practical and connotative educational development model for foreign students studying in China and further promote the internationalization of NEFU education.
