On May 13, the finals of the sixth TRIZ Cup —the National College Student Innovative Method Competition came to a close at Harbin Engineering University. A total of 1400 innovative works from 95 universities and colleges from 23 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions across the country were enrolled. NEFU teams won 1 special prize, 2 first prizes, 4 second prizes and 14 third prizes and NEFU won the Best Organization Award.
The competition was formally launched in February of this year. A total of 61 NEFU teams signed up for the competition, and 21 teams entered the finals. During the competition, under the guidance of TRIZ instructors and professional instructors, each team carefully analyzed the advantages of their work and continuously strengthened their defense skills. They worked very hard to prepare for the competition. Some gave up eating and went to the scene to prepare for the exhibition, some worked late at night to revise the draft, and some repeatedly practiced their defenses dozens of times.
After two days of defense and demonstration, Ma Ningwei’s team from College of Engineering and Technology won the special award of creative design category with their workAn Automatic Sorting Device Based on the TRIZ theory of Irregular Packaging Express Scanning; Shao Jisheng, Wang Zhuoyao and their teams from the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering respectively received the first prize with their worksArtificially assisted picking Device of high and low strawberriesand
Autonomous Forest Fire Extinguishing Equipment; Wang Shuang’s team fromSchool of Transportation with workTRIZ Theory-based Multi-functional Yellow Flash Traffic Warning Lightas well as other 3 teams with their workswon the second prizes; Zhang Yibo’s team with work TRIZ Theory-based device for urban rainwater collection and purification treatment as well as other 13 teams won the third prizes.In addition, Prof. Fu Min from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering was awarded the honorary title of “Excellent Advisor”. After the competition, Ma Ningwei, on behalf of his team, concluded with deep feeling: “This competition has deepened our understanding of the TRIZ theory so that we can propose more feasible solutions based on it. The precious opinions of the teachers not only corrected our errors in the application of the theory, but also encouraged us to maintain an innovative spirit.”
The competition was jointly sponsored by the Innovative Methods Society, the Science and Technology Department of Heilongjiang Province, the Education Department of Heilongjiang, the Heilongjiang Association for Science and Technology, and the Heilongjiang Intellectual Property Office, and jointly organized by the Institute of Science and Technology Information of Heilongjiang Province, the Productivity Promotion Center of Heilongjiang Province, Harbin Engineering University, the Heilongjiang Association for the Promotion and Application of Innovative Methods, and the Heilongjiang Research Institute of Technological Innovation. With the theme of “Innovation Leads the Future, Entrepreneurship makes Dreams come true”, this competition thoroughly implements the national innovation-driven development strategy, inspires the innovation and entrepreneurial enthusiasm of college students, enhances their comprehensive ability for innovation and entrepreneurship, and fosters more innovative and entrepreneurial talents to promote innovations. Meanwhile the achievements and outputs will in turn inject new vitality into the economic development of the entire society.
