On December 7th, the “Chinese Dream•NEFU Dream” campus choral competition came to a close. More than 2,000 people from 25 teams from our university participated in the event. In the end, the NEFU Office I, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering College, and Forestry College choirs won the first prize.

In order to thoroughly implement the Xi Jinpin Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristic for the New Era, and the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Party, profoundly understand the great historical process of the Reform and Opening-up Policy in the past 40 years, and commemorate the 83rd anniversary of the December 9th Movement, vigorously carry forward the spirit of patriotism, the spirit of revolutionary tradition and the traditional Chinese culture, show NEFU spirit in the new era, and create a positive and upbeat atmosphere for the construction of a Double First-class university, NEFU organized this “Chinese Dream·NEFU Dream” choral competition.

15 chorus teams composed of undergraduate colleges and graduate college participated in the group A competition. Meanwhile 10 chorus teams of Marxism College, Science and Technology Research Institute (Key Laboratory of Forest Plant Ecology of the Ministry of Education, Salinity and Bioresource Environment Research Center, Engineering Internship Center), the Sports Department (International Exchange College, Continuing Education College), NEFU Office I, NEFU Office II, Retirement Office, Library, Hospital, Logistics Service Department, Asset Management Office participated in the Group B competition.

All the colleges attached great importance to this competition. Some colleges invited bands to perform accompaniment, and some invited experts to give detailed guidance. The teachers and students were enthusiastic to participate and rehearse in their spare time. From the single-sentence practice to the complete display of the entire song, they said that learning to sing these songs that praise the party, the motherland, the people, and the reform and opening up policy not only made everyone feel the beautiful melody, but also enhanced the bonding between teachers, students and our country.

In the preliminary round on December 5, 50 classic songs were performed by 25 choirs. After the competition, 13 teams entered the finals on December 7. The leaders, middle-level cadres and representatives of teachers and students from various colleges watched the event at the finals.

Under the wonderful performance of teachers and students, 26 songs including Ode to our Motherland, Chinese Dream, Love My China, Glory and Dream showed the countless achievement of the Reform and the happiness of Chinese people. The Young Friends Come to Meet brought and In the Bright Sun performed by the College Student Choirs reflected the upbeat spirit of the young students.

Renowned experts in the choral industry from the province scored the performance according to the difficulty of the song and the singing skills. In the final competition, 3 first prizes, 5 second prizes, 5 third prizes and 12 excellent prizes were awarded. Zhang Zhikun, secretary of the party committee, presented the award to the first-class award-winning teams —the NEFU Office I, the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and the Forestry College.

Many teachers and students said that in the year of the 40th anniversary of the Reform and Opening-up and the 83rd anniversary of the December 9th Movement, the competition not only promotes the spirit of patriotism, but also shows the new style and the heroic passion of NEFUers.
