Recently, jointly sponsored by the Beijing Graduate Employment Service Center, the Human Resources and Public Service Center of the Human Resources and Social Security Bureau of Beijing Haidian District, and the Management Committee of Zhongguancun Dongsheng Science and Technology Park, the 6th “Dongsheng Cup” International Entrepreneurship Competition and the 3rd Zhongguancun Talent Maker Competition Global Finals was held in Zhongguancun, Beijing. NEFU’s project “Water-soluble Plant Source Health Industry” won the “Second Prize in Global Finals.” “Zhilin Forestry Special Equipment R&D Co., Ltd.” and “Self-repairing Flexible Electronic Strain Sensor” won the “Global Semi-final” certificate, and NEFU won the “Excellent Institution Recommendation Award”.

After the semi-final competition, the project “Water-soluble Plant Source Health Industry” of the team of PhD Lian Bolin, who is a member of the NEFU Key Laboratory of Forest Plant Ecology of the Ministry of Education, entered the global finals under the guidance of Prof. Zhao Xiuhua and Prof. Fu Yujie, etc. In the roadshow of the global finals, the project was highly praised by experts and judges for its unique innovation and applicability.

It is reported that the competition has not only set up divisions in North China, East China, Central China, South China, Northwest, Southwest and Northeast, covering 80 universities and more than 20 maker spaces, but also set up divisions in North America, South Korea, Europe and the area along the “One Belt One Road” policy. The competition attracted more than 5,200 outstanding entrepreneurial projects  both domestic and international, covering artificial intelligence, intelligent manufacturing, new energy and new materials, cultural creativity, Internet +, health care and other fields.

Since the launch of the competition in August of this year, through project declaration, school review, project roadshow, and special counseling, three projects “Water-soluble Plant Source Health Industry”, “Zhilin Forestry Special Equipment R&D Co., Ltd.”, and “Self-repairing Flexible Electronic Strain Sensor” were successfully selected in the global semi-finals.

In recent years, in order to further encourage student participation in innovation and entrepreneurship, and to promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, by the use of the Science Park and the Entrepreneurial Park, NEFU has stimulated the enthusiasm of the students for innovation and entrepreneurship, built an innovative and entrepreneurial service platform, and helped to improve the quality of personnel training and the construction of “double first-class” university.
