On May 25 and 26, the 9th National Market Survey and Analysis Competition for College Students was held at Nanjing University of Post and Telecommunications. NEFU teams achieved excellent results with solid professional knowledge, excellent organization and outstanding performance. The 8 student teams under the guidance of teachers Lu Jiehua, Hao Lili, and Jiang Yan from the College of Economics and Management, won 3 national first prizes and 5 national third prizes. 2 teams placed in the top 20, which is a breakthrough for NEFU in this event.

After 7 months, in total 969 students of 209 teams from 121 colleges and universities nationwide were selected for the finals of the 2019 competition. After the knowledge contest, the school-level selection contest and the provincial-level trials, 3 NEFU teams stood out and successfully entered the national finals held in Nanjing.

NEFU teams carried out a half-year work on data collection, questionnaire design, market research, data analysis and report writing for the competition, continually improving and constantly polishing their work. In the finals, during the section of on-the-spot presentation and defense, the 3 NEFU teams with their works Ancient for Today—Analysis of the consumption status and prospect of cultural products in the Palace Museum, A Journey to the Splendid Chinese Civilization—Analysis of customer preference and market potential of children's sinology training, and Going Home for Dinner—Analysis of user satisfaction and preference of Recipe APP, demonstrated their talent as NEFU students to the judges, and achieved excellent results.

The National Market Survey and Analysis Competition for College Students is a professional event sponsored by the National Statistics Teaching Advisory Board under the Ministry of Education and the Commerce Statistical Society of China. The competition has been included in the 34 rankings of the National University Subjects Competition 2014-2018, bringing together the top universities and first-class enterprises in the field of statistics and market research, such as Xiamen University, University of International Business and Economics, and Horizon Research Consultancy Group. The competition aims to inspire the innovation capacity of college students, improve their practical ability in organization, planning, investigation and implementation, data processing and analysis, and cultivate the sense of social responsibility, service awareness, market acumen, and team spirit.
