From May 13th to 17th, the 29th conference of the International Union of the Forest Research Organization (IUFRO) was held in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Forestry Research Institute (GFRI) in Nanning. Seven NEFU teachers and students attended the conference. Among them, Cai Xiuting, a doctoral student in forestry economic management, and Faris Rafi Almay Widagdo, a forest management student, gave speeches entitledResearch on Network Structure, Correlation Characteristics and Driving Mechanism of Forest Ecological Security in ChinaandOptimization of Peatland Plantation Forest Production by Minimizing Logging Residues. After a fierce competition, Cai Xiuting won first prize in the poster competition.

The conference (NIFRO Nannning 2019) was hosted by the International Union of the Forest Research Organization and organized by the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Forestry Research Institute and Institute of Forest Ecology and Conservation under the Chinese Academy of Forestry. The theme of the conference was “Coordinated Growth, Cleaner Environment and sustainable forests.” The conference attracted many representatives, both domestic and international, during which the outstanding performance of NEFU students was highly recognized by the participants and the organizers.
