On the morning of December 29th, the 2020 Annual Working Conference on International Education in China was held in conference room 808 of the comprehensive office building, andVicePresident Li Shunlong, Deans of all colleges, theViceDean in charge ofinternationalstudentaffairs andheads of relevant functional departments attended the meeting.The conference was presided over by Yue Xihua,ViceDean of the School of InternationalExchanges.
At the meeting, Luo Ying, Dean of the School of InternationalExchanges, made a work report on the basic situation, opportunities and challenges, measures and guarantees ofNEFU internationaleducation in China. Wang Xinzheng,ViceDean of theGraduateSchool, and Ge Bing,DeputyDirector of theAcademicAffairsOffice, put forward specific requirements on how to do a good job in teaching andcultivating international students with academic qualifications.Lan Xingguo,ViceDean of the College ofLifeSciences, and Zhang Qunli,ViceDean of the College ofEngineering andTechnology, respectively introduced thecultivation of international students in the two colleges from the perspective of internationalundergraduate andpostgraduate students, and shared their advanced experience in teaching, cultivating, management and service ofinternational students.Tang Zhonghua,ViceDean ofCollege of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Resource Utilization, shared the experience of instructors with the theme of “Improving the quality ofcultivation from ‘ThreeIdentities’—culture, specialty, and team”
At the meeting,VicePresident Li Shunlong affirmed the outstanding achievements ofour international education in China during the “13th Five Year Plan period”. He said that in the face of the current complex international environment and the severe challenges of the COVID-19 epidemic, the wholeuniversity should unite and work together to overcome the difficulties, constantly standardize management services, strengthen connotation construction, improve quality and efficiency, and strive to improve the level ofinternational education in China;furthermore, we should take the opportunity of the second round of quality certification ofinternational education in China to actively explore new paths and measures, open up a new situation for the work of international education in China during the “14th Five Year Plan period”, and help the construction of “DoubleFirstClass” and international development ofNEFU.
