Recently, NEFU was jointly recognized as one of the first water-saving universities in Heilongjiang Province by the Provincial Department of Water Resources, the Provincial Department of Education and the Provincial Government Offices Administration.

In order to carry out the policy of “water conservation first” proposed by President Xi Jinping, implement the “National Water Conservation Implementation Plan” and the “Heilongjiang Province Water Conservation Implementation Plan”, and further promote the water conservation work in NEFU, NEFU has responded positively to the requirements of the “Notice on the Work Related to Water Conservation in Universities in 2020”, improved the system, strengthened technical improvements, enhanced training, expanded publicity, and carried out the construction of a water-saving university. During the construction of the first batch of provincial water-saving universities, NEFU adhered to the concept of “high quality, environmental protection, innovation and cooperation”, focused on “big education in small details”, paid attention to management and service education, improved water conservation management and techniques, expanded the benefits of water conservation publicity, improved the long-term mechanism of water conservation, and achieved good economic and social benefits. NEFU has played a positive demonstration role in promoting water conservation in both universities and Heilongjiang province, providing solid support for environmental protection and the “double first-class” construction of NEFU, and making due contribution to the construction of ecological civilization in Heilongjiang Province and China.

On December 24, 2020, NEFU successfully passed the assessment of water conservation work carried out by the Heilongjiang Province Water-saving University Assessment Group, which is composed of nine people from the Provincial Department of Water Resources, the Provincial Department of Education, the Provincial Government Offices Administration, the Provincial Institute of Water Resources and the Harbin Water Affairs Bureau.
