On the morning of May 8th, the kite festival was held on the lawn in front of the Red House in NEFU, and 50 teams selected by 23 league organizations participated in the event.

The activities include four parts: painting kites, exhibiting kites, flying kites, chasing and talking about kites. Kites painted by each team were of novel ideas, distinctive themes and proper color matching. Kites were decorated by more than 10 teams including teams from Material Science and Engineering College, School of Civil Engineering and College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, with taking the torch, the school emblem and other elements as the main body, while expressing the beautiful vision of Donglin youth to work hard and continue to strive and fight for the future from generation to generation.

At the event, with the moving melody of “Meet in Donglin”, all participating teams, explored the origin of kites, talked about paper kites, and actively participated in the on-site knowledge contest. The flying kites in the blue sky contained the best wishes of Donglin students for the 70th anniversary of the school.

Teachers and a public review visited the site and gave their votes on kites decorated by each participating team. Woodworking Pioneer Team in Material Science and Engineering College won the first prize, Lingyun Team in School of Civil Engineering and Donglin-flying Team in the Humanities College won the second prize, and Dream-chasing Team in Foreign Languages College and Donglin Team and Fengzhicai Team in College of Wildlife and Protected Area College won the third prize.

Students actively participated in this activity, which enriched their extracurricular life under the context of epidemic prevention and control. Students also felt the charm of traditional culture and experience a relaxed and cheerful campus atmosphere. Students said that they will work hard in youth under the spirit of Donglin, striving for the best results of Donglin students, and welcoming NEFU's 70th birthday with outstanding achievements.
