The International Museum Day was celebrated with the theme of“the power of the museum”. In response to this theme, an online live-stream sessionthemed as“Passing on the Power of Museum and Casting the Beauty of Ecology”was held by China (Harbin) Forest Museum at 2:00 p.m. on May 18, leading visitors to appreciate the charm oftheChina (Harbin) Forest Museum, and fully demonstrating the distinctive strength of museums in promoting ecological civilization, inheriting forest culture and providingapublic cultural service.

This live-streaming took“Forest and Nature”as the main line, and guided visitors around the museum’s exhibition halls such as“Evolution and Distribution of Forests”,“Classification and Distribution of Chinese Forests”and“Forest Animals”. In combination with the exhibits of animals and plants, fossils, soil, seeds and other exhibits, the docent of the museum told the history of ourdynamic and vigorousforests.Visitors not only saw the Silicified Wood with a history of 160 million years, the Sturgeon Fossil with a history of 134 million years which donated byNEFU’sAcademician Ma Jianzhang, but also further understood the evolution process of forests, enriched the knowledge of forest animals and plants, and understood the significance of forests protection.

The museum will continue to inherit and carry forward forest culture, promote ecological culture in campus, deeply explore the natural culture resources of the museum, give full play to strength of college museums in culture education, collection, research and providing public cultural services, so that more people can walk in the museum and feel the cultural power of the museum.
