On April 14, the launching ceremony for the 2023 China Postgraduate Innovation and Practice Series was successfully held at Fudan University in Shanghai. Weng Tiehui, the member of the Party Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education, Yang Wei, the President of the Association of Chinese Graduate Education, and Qiu Xin, the Secretary of the Party Committee of Fudan University, attended the ceremony and jointly pressed the starting button to announce the official launch of the Competition. Liu Shouxin, the Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of NEFU, attended the ceremony and received the banner for hosting the 2023 China Postgraduate “Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality” Innovation and Creativity Competition.

At the ceremony, on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Weng Tiehui warmly congratulated the achievements of the China Postgraduate Innovation and Practice Series over the past ten years and expressed her earnest hope for the host units in 2023. She pointed out that the China Postgraduate Innovation and Practice Series has become a hot event of postgraduate education, an important platform to enhance the innovation and practical abilities of postgraduates, and also a key platform to promote postgraduate education and teaching reform. “We hope that all units will use the competition to promote scientific and technological innovation as well as talent training, make high-quality and world-class postgraduate education, and contribute to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation,” said Weng Tiehui.

In 2023, 16 thematic events will be held, including the China Postgraduate “Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality” Innovation and Creativity Competition and the China Postgraduate Mathematical Modeling Competition. The China Postgraduate “Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality” Innovation and Creativity Competition was added last year to further enhance postgraduates’ understanding of the “carbon peaking and carbon neutrality” strategy, to improve their consciousness to serve the major national strategies, and to help realize the “3060 carbon peaking and carbon neutrality” goals. The first competition was hosted by Shenzhen International Graduate School of Tsinghua University. This year, the Graduate School of NEFU actively planned and won the hosting rights for the 2023 Competition. NEFU will take this competition and its series of activities as an opportunity to make concerted efforts and careful preparations to ensure a smooth competition, to promote the practice of the concept of “carbon peaking and carbon neutrality” among postgraduate students and the development of ecological civilization, and to contribute NEFU wisdom to the realization of the national “carbon peaking and carbon neutrality” goals.
