On May 4, the People’s Daily published the 100 student representatives of the National Scholarship for Undergraduates and Junior College Students and the 100 student representatives of the National Scholarship for Postgraduates for the academic year 2021-2022. Dong Yi, a 2019 biotechnology major from Aulin College, and Liu Ke, a 2020 Marxist theory major from the School of Marxism, stood out among them.
The event was rigorously selected and judged by experts, and 100 student representatives were selected from the 60,000 outstanding national scholarship recipients for undergraduate and junior college students and 45,000 outstanding national postgraduate scholarship recipients.
Dong Yi is a 2019 student studying Biotechnology in Aulin College. He has won the Gold Award in the International Genetically Engineered Machine Competition (iGEM), the Single Award in the iGEM Best Medical Diagnostic Project, and the Bronze Award in the International Directed Evolution Competition (iDEC). He has published two SCI papers and one CSCD journal paper. He has participated in two international internships with World Future Council (WFC) and iGEM Ambassador, and has accumulated more than 500 hours of internship and volunteer service. He has been successfully recommended to Tsinghua University for PhD studies without examination.
Liu Ke is a member of the Communist Party of China and a Master’s student of Marxist Theory in the School of Marxism. He was awarded the title of “Good Youth” in Heilongjiang Province. He has published four articles in newspapers and journals such as People’s Daily (Theory Edition) and Fendou.
