On April 29, the 40th National Forestry and Grassland Science and Technology Lecture was held at NEFU. This event was organized by the Science and Technology Department of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration and co-hosted by Northeast Forestry University and the Heilongjiang Forestry and Grassland Bureau. Attendees included Wang Lianzhi, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Department of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration; Shao Weigeng, Deputy Director of the Heilongjiang Forestry and Grassland Bureau; and Yu Haipeng, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Northeast Forestry University, who also delivered speeches.
Yu Haipeng stated that the National Forestry and Grassland Science and Technology Lecture provides an efficient platform for farmers, forestry enterprises, and grassroots technicians to learn practical forestry and grassland technologies. It also offers a pathway for forestry and grassland science and technology personnel to showcase and promote their achievements. He emphasized that NEFU values the trust placed in it by the Science and Technology Department and will ensure the success of this event.
Shao Weigeng briefly introduced the current state, initiatives, and significant achievements in the field of forest economy in Heilongjiang Province. He emphasized that the Provincial Bureau would continue to explore the potential for industrial development, contributing significantly to sustainable forestry and establishing a leading area for comprehensive food security.
In his speech, Wang Lianzhi fully acknowledged the supportive role NEFU plays in forestry science and technology innovation and the achievements of Heilongjiang Province in forestry and grassland work. He hoped that the experts would use clear and straightforward language to explain key technologies, precisely deliver mature and practical forestry technologies to the grassroots level, and overcome the last hurdle in transforming forestry and grassland scientific and technological achievements.
This session of the lecture series, themed “Innovative Understory Economy Technology to Support the Comprehensive Revitalization of Northeast China”, featured five experts from NEFU: Zou Li, Zhao Xiuhua, Xu Zhichao, Peng Jinsong, and Tang Zhonghua. They shared their experiences in scientific innovation and the promotion of their achievements.
The lecture was conducted in a hybrid format, combining online and offline participation. It was live-streamed on platforms such as CCTV Video and TikTok, attracting widespread attention. The online viewership exceeded 870,000, achieving simultaneous online and offline teaching with real-time interaction. Relevant officials from the Heilongjiang Forestry and Grassland Bureau’s Science and Technology Department, experts from the Heilongjiang Academy of Forestry, and students and faculty from Northeast Forestry University attended the event.
