The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security recently released the 2023 list of national high-skilled talent training bases and skills master studio project units. Heilongjiang Province had four units and five studios selected, and the “Su Xiaoxia Skills Master Studio” from NEFU’s School of Horticulture has been designated as a “National Skills Master Studio Project Unit.”

The National Skills Master Studio, introduced by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, represents a new model for cultivating highly skilled talents. It follows the principles of integrating work and study, combining production and training, demonstrating leadership, and pursuing high-quality development. This comprehensive platform offers skills training, evaluation, competitions, exchanges, and the promotion of craftsmanship. It aims to establish a network for cultivating and promoting high-skilled talents in critical industries and urgently needed occupations nationwide. By naming these studios after skilled experts, the program leverages their expertise in mentoring, tackling technical challenges, preserving craftsmanship, and promoting skills.

Su Xiaoxia, a model worker in Heilongjiang Province, an exemplary teacher, a provincial technical expert, and a judge in the China Vocational Skills Competition florist category, has been teaching for 20 years. Her dedication to floristry education and research, grounded in the traditional cultural roots of floral art while integrating modern techniques, is truly inspiring. Committed to excellence, she continually hones her craft, conducting in-depth academic research and providing practical training inside and outside the classroom. Her students have consistently achieved outstanding results in major floral competitions at both the provincial and national levels.

The designation of the “Su Xiaoxia Skills Master Studio” as a “National Skills Master Studio Project Unit” recognizes Su Xiaoxia’s expertise and affirms NEFU’s significant achievements in talent cultivation and cultural heritage. This honor marks a new milestone in NEFU’s professional education capabilities and will provide powerful momentum for our future development. The studio will continue to uphold the spirit of “striving for excellence and pursuing perfection,” enhancing professional standards and innovation capabilities, and contributing to cultivating more highly skilled and capable professionals.
