On June 23, the 2024 “Run, Youth” Heilongjiang Youth Rugby Championship was held at the Harbin Petroleum Institute Stadium. The NEFU rugby team performed excellently, winning the men’s and women’s university division A simplified rugby titles. Additionally, they secured third place in the university mixed division A touch rugby competition, adding glory to our school’s sports achievements.

Despite the rainy weather, the NEFU rugby team and other participating teams displayed fierce competition on the field. The team’s resilience and competitive spirit were evident as they showcased high-level skills and teamwork, ultimately winning the men's and women's university division A simplified rugby championships.

Our university team also performed exceptionally well in the mixed division A touch rugby competition. Despite facing intense challenges from other teams, our players maintained high morale and consistent performance, eventually earning third place and bringing honor to our school.

Since its establishment, the NEFU rugby team has been unwavering in its dedication to improving overall team performance and competitive ability. This commitment to excellence is evident in the team’s rigorous selection and training processes, which have cultivated many outstanding players. The team’s active participation in various competitions and exchange activities is a testament to their continuous efforts to enhance players’ skills and foster team spirit.

The victory in this provincial championship fully demonstrates the strength of our school rugby team and serves as the best reward for the players’ hard work. Moreover, it represents a significant achievement in our school’s sports development. The NEFU rugby team will continue to strive to improve overall performance and competitive ability constantly, aiming to bring more honors to the school. Using rugby as a medium, we also aim to support the comprehensive development of our students.
