On March 6th, the Heilongjiang Provincial Selection Contest of the 2nd National College Student Career Planning Competition and the 12th Heilongjiang Provincial College Student Career Planning Competition successfully concluded. NEFU achieved remarkable success in this event, with participating teams winning 2 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze awards—setting a new record for the university. In addition, four instructors were recognized as Excellent Instructors, and NEFU received the Excellent Organization Award. During the closing ceremony, a flag handover took place, officially granting NEFU the hosting rights for the next competition. Zhang Chunlei, a member of the Standing Committee and Vice President of NEFU, accepted the competition flag on behalf of the university.

The Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Education hosted the competition under the theme “Building Dreams of Youth, Aspiring to All Directions, Planning the Voyage, Guiding the Future of Careers.” Since its launch four months ago, the event has involved 78 universities across the province and attracted a record-breaking 346,000 student participants. After several selection rounds at the university and regional levels, 304 outstanding contestants advanced to the provincial finals. Participants competed in various categories, including career exploration reports, situational simulations, and on-site defenses, comprehensively showcasing the career planning skills and development potential of contemporary college students.
NEFU has long placed great emphasis on graduate employment, regarding career planning as a key strategy to improve students’ overall quality and job market competitiveness. Since the competition began, NEFU’s Party Committee has led coordinated efforts across all departments. The Employment Guidance and Cooperative Development Office, along with relevant departments and various colleges, collaborated to build a strong, cohesive force. They organized a series of targeted activities, including themed presentations, alum seminars, and skills workshops. Industry leaders were invited to deliver the “Career Path Insights” lecture series, providing students with valuable guidance. At the same time, a series of specialized job fairs were held to help students identify their career goals and enhance their professional abilities and workplace competitiveness.
Looking ahead, NEFU will seize the opportunity to prepare for hosting the 13th Heilongjiang Provincial College Student Career Planning Competition, further integrating professional education with career planning. The university will implement a project designed to enhance the capabilities of career planning mentors. This initiative will form a team comprising industry experts, distinguished alums, and professional faculty members to provide specialized guidance. Additionally, NEFU will establish a “Competition Participant Growth Database” to promote learning through competition, teaching through competition, and employment through competition. The university will actively develop a comprehensive three-dimensional career planning system, characterized by “curriculum + practice + competition,” to enhance students’ overall quality and job-seeking competitiveness. It will take multiple measures to ensure high-quality and full employment for its graduates.
