NEFU Once Again Recognized as a National “Social Practice Activity Base for Chinese and Foreign Youth”

DATE:2026-03-18AUTHOR: VIEW:

Recently, the China Education Association for International Exchange announced the list of National Social Practice Activity Bases for Chinese and Foreign Youth for 2025. The China (Harbin) Forest Museum of Northeast Forestry University was successfully selected because of its distinctive ecological education, further strengthening the university’s achievements in practical education for both Chinese and international youth.

The China (Harbin) Forest Museum is China's first forest-themed specialized museum. Approved by the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, it was jointly established by Northeast Forestry University and the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Forestry, with involvement from the entire forestry sector. The museum aims to “bring together forest culture, promote the spirit of the forestry industry, emphasize ecological civilization, and integrate economic and social development,” while also fulfilling long-term functions such as collection and preservation, education and research, exhibition and exchange, and the promotion of civilization and progress. In recent years, the university has used high-quality practical teaching platforms such as the Mao’ershan Experimental Forest Farm, the Liangshui Experimental Forest Farm, and the China (Harbin) Forest Museum to integrate ecological civilization education, forestry science outreach, and regional cultural awareness. Through these efforts, the university organizes a range of hands-on activities for Chinese and international youth. Students from around the world join Chinese students to explore ecological classrooms, experience the landscapes of the cold northern black soil region and vast forest areas, and deepen their understanding of China’s natural ecology, green development philosophy, and cultural heritage.

In 2024, the university’s Mao’ershan Experimental Forest Farm was selected as one of the first National Social Practice Activity Bases for both Chinese and foreign youth. This recent recognition fully confirms the university’s success in establishing a hands-on education system and promoting international exchange. Taking advantage of this opportunity, the university will continue to improve practice-based courses, innovate exchange formats, and develop a distinctive study-in-China educational brand with NEFU characteristics, providing a strong platform for both Chinese and international students to learn from each other and engage in meaningful exchanges.
