About the Speaker
Giovanni Camino, the Chief Professor of Politecnico di Torino, Italy, is the member of the Polymer Degradation Discussion Group of the Royal Society of Chemicals (London), the member of the Academic Committee of the International Fire Retardance Material Conference, and the convener of the European Polymer Alliance with the theme of “the Combustion of Polymers”. He is also the member of the Academic Committee of the International Postdoctoral Course – Polymer Degradation and Stability, and the Vice Chairman of the International Polymer Modification-Degradation-Stability (MoDeSt) Organization. His research covers polymerization mechanism and kinetics, polymer degradation and stability mechanisms, aging and recycling of polymer materials, polymer ignition behavior, application of nanocoating self-assembly in polymer fire retardant protection, the application of sol-gel nanostructure self-growth technology in the protection of polymer fire safety, and the characterization of polymer thermal behavior and combustion behavior etc. He focuses on the polymer combustion and fire-retardant mechanism and has taken the initiative to study the intumescent fire-retardant mechanism. He is a world-renowned expert and has a long-standing reputation in the international field of fire retardance.
