In order to further reinforce the effect of outstanding young teachers’ role in teaching demonstration, and to further help young teachers, especially newly enrolled teachers, improve the quality of their classroom teaching, the Teacher Education Development Center invited two winners of the Teaching Contest from the preceding year, Associate Professor Li Mingjuan and Lecturer Tan Chang to the teaching salon held on March 28, 2017 to share their teaching experiences with the participants. The teaching salon was chaired by Jiang Zhongzhu, the Deputy Director of the Office of Academic Affairs.
According to the teaching practice of the course “Tax Law”, Li Mingjuan summed up two important means for teaching a good course: first, follow the national tax policy, and update the teaching content timely; second, use a variety of teaching methods to improve teaching effect. She believes that, as a teacher, we should grasp the frontier knowledge of the curriculum, keep learning, use of a variety of teaching methods according to the teaching content, and effectively combine theory and social practice.
Tan Chang talked about how to create a “colorful” classroom combining with her own “Advanced Mathematics” course, including a good introduction, use of realia, targeted questions, through flexible use of teaching methods such as heuristic and inquiry ways to create an inclusive classroom atmosphere. She also explained the important role of teaching skills in classroom teaching.
The two teachers combined with their own teaching experience of many years to share with the participant teachers, and their teaching design and teaching methods provided young teachers with important reference points.
