About the Speaker
Bob Ogden, Ph.D., academic leader of conservation genetics, University of Edinburgh, is the director in the study of wildlife population genetics and forensics in the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies and the Roslin Institute, University of Edinburgh.
Currently, he is the president of the Society for Wildlife Forensic Science and the TRACE Wildlife Forensics Network, an expert of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, a member of the Consultative Committee of the International Alliance on Fighting Wildlife Crime, and a member of the Scientific Working Group and Discipline Group for the U.S. Wildlife Forensic Science.
Since 2004, Dr. Bob Ogden has conducted a substantial number of case studies and methodological researches in the field of wildlife and fish DNA forensics, published numerous research findings and made remarkable achievements in the domain of the statistics of forensics genetics. He has been to Africa, southeast of Asia and the UK to provide training for wildlife forensics technique for multiple times.
