About the speaker:
Prof. Shi Qiang received his Ph.D. degree from Michigan Technological University in 1997 and then conducted postdoctoral research at Michigan Technological University and Maine University in the United States. He is currently a professor at the University of North Texas and a Distinguished Professor of Heilongjiang province. He is a well-known international expert in the field of wood science and an overseas expert in the field of forestry engineering.
The research of Prof. Shi Qiang focuses on natural fiber composites, wood-based panels, nanocomposites, engineering wood composites and structural design. Till now he has already published more than 170 papers in a variety of international publications and conferences, including 130 SCI papers. He has been invited to give more than 60 lectures in the United States, Europe, Asia, South America and other countries.
He has served as the director of Composites Division in the Engineered Wood Association, a review committee member of ASTM and APA standard, the special review committee member for the special subjects of the US Department of Agriculture and the Department of Energy, and an editorial board member ofThermodynamics JournalandInternational Environmental Engineering and Natural Resources Journal. He is also a visiting professor at Northeast Forestry University and Guangxi University, and a guest consultant and guest researcher of the International Center for Bamboo and Rattan.
