The Orientation and Target of this Discipline
The Agriculture and forestry economy management first-level discipline in Northeast Forestry University includes two subordinate disciplines with authorization to grant doctoral degrees: forestry economy management and agricultural economy management. Forestry economy management is the birthplace of the discipline in our country, which has a profound historical accumulation. At present, it is a priority discipline of Heilongjiang Province and the State Forestry Administration. The first-level discipline of agriculture and forestry economy management has one post-doctoral research station, and has constructed one humanities and social science key research base in Heilongjiang Province, the Forestry Economics and management research center of Northeast Forestry University.

The Agricultural and forest economy management discipline is based on two subordinate disciplines of forestry economy management and agricultural economy management. The main research fields include forestry economic theory and policy, agricultural economic theory and policy, the forestry enterprise management, forest resources and environmental accounting and financial management, etc. We will work from on our advantages, characteristics and strengths, continually doing a good job in the postgraduate education and actively developing foreign student education, striving to build a domestic first-class discipline with international influence.
Research Fields of Agricultural Economics and Management
(1) Theory and Policy of Agricultural Economics
It contains research on Chinese agriculture, rural economic theory and realistic policy. It mainly involves land contracted responsibility systems and the family economy, the effect of economic globalization on agriculture, the rural economy of our country and countermeasures, farmers' organizational problems, farmers' professional cooperative organization development, agricultural technological progress and systems innovation, the process of agricultural production and circulation of agricultural products, agricultural products' international competitiveness, the transfer of surplus labor from rural areas, agricultural industrialization, rural economic spatial structure and regional development, government function in culture marketing and modernization, the structure change of farmers' income and rural economic development, food supply policy, food safety, agricultural socialization service system construction and agricultural modernization, etc.
(2) Regional Economic Theory and Rural Planning
It mainly involves research on the regional economic development theory, the formulation of Chinese rural regional development planning, and the development and transformation of rural areas and their modernization. It also includes the theory and policy of the coordinated development of rural industrialization and urbanization, the layout change in the process of rural industrialization, urbanization of villages and towns, centralized evolution law of villages and towns, etc.
(3) Theory and Application of Agricultural Ecological and EnvironmentalEconomics
It closely focuses research on the ecological and environmental problems in agricultural and rural development. It mainly aims research the theory and application of environmental assessment and planning, the theory and policy of environmental management, the research and application of ecological system assessment methods, agricultural and rural economy sustainable development mechanisms, etc.
Research Fields of Forest Economy Management
(1) Theory and Policy of Forestry Economy
Research the basic theory and policy of Chinese forestry, focusing on the theoretical and practical problems, such as the reform of state-owned forest regions, a balance of ecological, economic and social development of state-owned forest areas; the development of the social-economic transition of state-owned forest area, people's livelihood problems in state-owned forest areas, and Economic development of the under-forest economy of the state-owned forest areas.
Meanwhile, difficulties and hot issues are focused on, such as technology and economic cooperation between China and Russia, climate negotiations concerning forest, and forest carbon sink, etc.
(2) Forestry Enterprise Management
Mainly researching the theory and practice of management of state-owned forest industry corporation, focusing on the operation management of the Northeast-Inner Mongolia state-owned enterprise group, reform of management systems of state-owned forest industry corporations, relocation and reform of state-owned forest industry corporations, industry development strategies and selection of state-owned forest areas, and industry transformation and development of state-owned forest areas after stop felling, etc.
(3) Environmental Accounting and Financial Management of Forest Resources
Mainly researching the theory and methods of environmental accounting of forest resources, accounting systems of forest resources and environment, assessment and ecological compensation of forest resources and environment, forest resources and environment fund systems and the reform of taxes and fees, public finance theory and the safeguard system for forest resources and environment and so on.
Discipline Leader and Discipline Echelon
Professor Cao Yukun is an excellent scholar of Heilongjiang province, Longjiang scholar, a member of the Academic Degree Committee in agricultural and forestry economy management under State Council, a member of national post-doctoral management committee, a member of the ecological expert team of Heilongjiang Science Consultancy Committee, and the editor of several academic journals, such as Forestry Economics. She visited Finland METLA from 2003 to 2004. Her research fields include forestry economic theory and policy. She has chaired more than 30 projects, several funded by National Natural Science Foundation and National Social Fund. She has been awarded first and second provincial social science prizes. She has published 3 books and more than 140 papers in top journals.
At present, this discipline has 29 teachers, 18 doctoral supervisors, 20 professors, 6 associate professors, 3 lecturers; 97% of the teachers hold doctorates, the academic echelon is reasonably distributed by age, structure, educational background and title.

Agriculture and forestry economy management, especially the forestry economy management is on leading position of nation, which has prominent characteristics and advantages, outstanding achievements in the field of Forest tenure system reform and management system reform of state-owned forest areas, forestry regional cooperation in northeast Asia and the agroforestry management in main grain-producing areas.

Firstly, one should have the good personal character, social morality and professional ethics; advocate science, with a pioneering and dedicated spirit, having a strong interest of academic research; adhere to the academic ethics. Secondly, one should master a solid broad theory and the deep rich specialized knowledge in this field; have the capabilities to engage in economic analysis, economic management and social practice independently; be familiar with the frontier problems in the development of this discipline; put forward valuable research problems independently and innovate in study. Meanwhile, achievements should have a high theoretical significance and application value for the discipline construction and agroforestry economic development. Graduate education has always been adhered to the strict norms, constantly improving the training quality, perfecting the training plan. We will keep admitting nearly 25 doctoral students, and nearly 30 graduate students every year.

During "Twelfth five-year" period, the discipline carried out 5 projects from the National Nature Science Foundation, 3 from the National Social Science Foundation, more than 100 projects of the National Soft Science, the Ministry of Education, and of the province departmental level; published more than 300 papers on national leading-core periodicals, 35 publications of agriculture and forestry economic and management series; won 5 first prizes in provincial scientific research awards; cultivated more than 10 foreign students and further-training students; Presentations by 20 people in domestic and international academic conference.
3. The Main Effect of this Discipline at Home and Abroad and the Social Services
Located in the vicinity of the key state-owned forest area in China, there are vast forest regions as the practice platform of teaching and scientific research. Our discipline plays a more and more important role in local economic construction, providing policy advice for the reform of state-owned forest areas and local economic development and construction, and providing policy recommendations for the provincial government.
Our discipline has become a center of forestry economic management theory, research, and information consultation, and undertaken two national academic journals, the China forestry economy and green accounting. Meanwhile, China Forestry Business Seminars and Heilongjiang Forestry Economic Society are affiliated with it. Professors hold a large role in government consulting and social services. At the same time, the core teachers of this discipline have important social roles and influence, as national and local government decision-making consultants, national agroforestry academic journal editors and academic adviser.
