Recently, the 5th International Youth Artificial Intelligence Competition (Far East Division) came to an end in Heihe University. The team of NEFU took the first place in the Explorer All-Terrain Task Challenge and won the championship!

The 5th International Youth Artificial Intelligence Competition (Far East Division) is sponsored by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence, and organized by the Preparatory Committee of the 10th Joining Youth and Sharing the Sunshine International Youth Conference, the Chinese Organizing Committee of the International Youth Artificial Intelligence Competition, Heihe University, the Sino-Russian College Students Exchange Base of the Department of Education of the Ministry of Education, Heilongjiang Agricultural Reclamation Vocational College and Blagoveshchensk National Normal University. It aims to implement the Belt and Road initiative, promote the exchange of outstanding young people from various countries in the fields of science and technology and humanities, expand the exchanges, applications, and cooperation in the fields of robotics and artificial intelligence technology, broaden the international vision and innovation pattern of young people from all over the world, and help promote the high-quality development of the artificial intelligence industry.

More than 100 teams from 32 colleges and universities at home and abroad including Blagoveshchensk State Pedagogical University, Sholom-Alechem State University, Amur State Medical College, Yakut Arctic State Academy of Culture and Art, Tsinghua University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology, and Northeast Forestry University participated in the competition. The NEFU students manipulated the Explorer robot car without any deviation from the track throughout its journey, breaking through numerous obstacles quickly and smoothly, and finally taking the lead in crossing the finish line.

In the process of preparing for the competition, our students continuously debugged and improved the robot car in their spare time. After repeated experiments, the robot car had a stronger obstacle passing performance. Fearless and calm on the field, our students struggled with tenacious spirit, showing the demeanor of the NEFU students who would become stronger and more courageous while meeting the strong in fighting.
