The Information Security and Countermeasures Contest (ISCC) is a top-level event in the field of information security in China. The competition is listed in the “National Directory of General College Student Competitions” and has been held annually since 2004, with wide and far-reaching influence. This competition was hosted by the China Ordnance Society and the Information Security and Countermeasures Professional Committee of the China Ordnance Society, and was held at Beijing Institute of Technology. It attracted top competitors from more than 1,200 well-known universities, enterprises, and institutions such as Sichuan University, Tongji University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Northwestern Polytechnical University, and National University of Defense Technology. The total number of participants exceeded 13,400. The competition lasted for 25 days and aimed to both comprehensively and from multiple perspectives assess the students’ innovative abilities in cybersecurity, as well as stimulate their research potential in the field of cybersecurity offense and defense. The first prize rate for the individual challenge in the national competition was only 1.2%, indicating intense competition.

Throughout this competition, our students’ practical and innovative abilities were put to the test. It serves as a new initiative for the Department of Network Construction to actively participate in collaborative education in the field of cybersecurity. The students’ professional skills, innovative thinking, and overall qualities have been further enhanced. It also serves as a good demonstration for promoting the popularization of information security knowledge and enhancing student awareness of information security. Furthermore, it contributes to the cultivation of talents and the integration of academia, industry, research, and application in the cybersecurity ecosystem.
