Located in a corner of the Taihang Mountains in Fuping County, Baoding City, Hebei Province, Dianfang Village once had an historical of battle in the Jinchaji Border Region where several revolutionary martyrs and a strong red cultural atmosphere emerged. In early July, the group, led by Professor Song, researched in Dianfang Village. They found that there was potential to build a ‘Red Shop House’ and develop regional tourism in Dianfang Village. There were existing issues like insufficient utilization of red cultural resources, a lack of integrated service facilities and a low integration of industry. Therefore, plans should be aimed at promoting red culture, national defense education and service facilities and committed to establishing a featured experiential national defense education theme park with red cultural education as the main focus and military program experience and eco-tourism as the secondary focuses.
In this inaugural competition, the number of participating universities and works hit a new high. The NEFU projects were chosen from among 657 national plans in the Creative Track and entered in the finals. The plan was finally chosen as one of 20 works to earn a first prize.
