On November 3, the finals of the 11th National “Xuechuang Cup” University Entrepreneurship Simulation Competition (referred to as the “Xuechuang Cup”) concluded in Xuzhou, Jiangsu. Out of 172 universities nationwide, 242 teams advanced to the finals. After fierce competition, three teams from NEFU achieved remarkable success, winning one national grand prize and two first prizes. Professors Sun Dawei and Li Mingjuan from the School of Economics and Management received the “Best Mentor” award. At the same time, Professors Shang Hangbiao and Liang Liang earned the Excellent Mentor award, marking a historic achievement for NEFU.

The “Xuechuang Cup,” recognized by the Ministry of Education, is one of the most prestigious competitions, known for its high value and broad participation. The event aims to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education in universities, foster entrepreneurial talent, and support experimental teaching in innovation and entrepreneurship. From provincial competitions to the semifinals and the final round, the competition attracted over 1,500 universities and 120,000 teams nationwide, involving nearly 500,000 students and faculty members.

In the Heilongjiang provincial round of the competition, 53 universities from across the province participated, with 352 teams competing. Since April, the School of Economics and Management at NEFU has served as the organizer for the provincial “Xuechuang Cup” qualifiers, successfully managing on-campus selection rounds, pre-competition training, and other preparatory work. Students from more than ten schools, including the School of Economics and Management, Aulin College, and the School of Science, competed in three categories: Entrepreneurship Simulation, Digital Marketing Simulation, and Financial Decision-Making Simulation. NEFU’s teams secured three first prizes, three second prizes, and two third prizes, with the School of Economics and Management earning the Heilongjiang Province Outstanding Organization Award. The three teams that won first prizes in the provincial round advanced to the national semifinals, where they continued to excel, reaching the national finals. Ultimately, one team won the national grand prize, and two were awarded first prizes.

These outstanding results underscore NEFU’s commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship through experiential learning. The university will continue to follow the educational philosophy of “learning through competition, teaching through competition,” aiming to enhance students' innovation and practical skills to support their overall development.
