Recently, NEFU student teams demonstrated outstanding mathematical modeling skills and teamwork, earning remarkable results in the 2024 National College Student Mathematical Modeling Competition. Their achievements include one National First Prize, seven National Second Prizes, and 100 provincial-level awards.

Established in 1992, the National College Student Mathematical Modeling Competition is held annually and ranks among the 19 significant competitions featured in the "University Discipline Competition Rankings." Organized by the competition committee, the event is open to students from universities nationwide. It aims to promote the application of mathematical modeling in academic teaching and research while advancing the development of mathematical modeling education.

This year, 393 teams from NEFU registered for the competition. From July to September, the university organized a series of online and offline training sessions for participants, covering mathematical modeling techniques, common problem-solving approaches, and key competition strategies. Faculty members were also invited to provide targeted guidance to help students thoroughly prepare for the competition.
