On the afternoon of October 12th, NEFU and Aston University held a video conference for the Joint Management Committee (JMC) of the 2022 Sino-foreign cooperation in running of schools. Li Bin, President of NEFU, Zhai Xuefeng, member of the Standing Party Committee and Vice President of NEFU, Alecks Subic, President of Aston University, Saskia Hansen, Executive Vice President, and heads of relevant departments of the two universities attended the meeting.

President Li said at the meeting that NEFU has always attached great importance on the high-quality development of education, seeking for cooperation and inclusiveness. Since the project of cooperative education of engineering management was approved, NEFU and Aston have conducted solid cooperation in a sincere manner. It is hoped that the two universities can carry out more profound exchanges, explore the joint training mode of graduate students, and promote international cooperation in scientific research in the future.

President Alecks Subic thanked NEFU for its work in ensuring the stable operation of the project during the epidemic, and shared the academic performance of NEFU students in Aston and the progress of the project.

Professor Liu Zhiming, Dean of Aulin College, Professor Cheng Peifeng, Dean of the School of Civil Engineering, Professor Mujib Rehman, Dean of Infrastructure and Sustainable Engineering, School of Engineering and Physical Sciences, Aston University, and WendyYip, Director of International Business Development Department, gave their special reports on the project operation respectively. The two sides had in-depth discussions on project management, enrollment, teaching and training, student dispatch, and evaluation of Sino-foreign cooperative education projects of the Ministry of Education, and reached a broad consensus.

Zhai Xuefeng made a concluding speech, expressing gratitude to Aston for its support in teacher training and project evaluation of our university. He also expressed the hope that the two universities would perform duties as always and continue to promote high-quality cooperation in the future. Saskia Hansen said that he was delighted to see the excellent performance of the graduates from the project, and he would continue to enhance in-depth cooperation between the two sides.
