The 22nd National Student Robotics Competition RoboMaster University League (Heilongjiang) ended recently at Harbin Engineering University, with nearly 300 students from 16 universities across China, including Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Jilin University, Dalian University of Technology and Harbin Institute of Technology, competing on the same field. NEFU’s Ares robotics team won the 3V3 Match with six wins in seven games and finished third in the infantry tournament.

The RoboMaster University League is made up of local academic institutions and universities, with participation from neighboring universities, and aims to promote the exchange of robotics technology between local universities, creating a strong academic atmosphere and contributing to the innovation and development of regional science and technology. Teams can also advance to the RoboMaster University Championship through a points system.

The NEFU Ares Robotics Team was formed in 2014. With the support of the Academic Affairs Office, the Youth League Committee, the Dual Innovation Center and the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, a robotics research and development team with a total of 35 undergraduate students was established after various levels of selection. The team includes a mechanical group, an electrical control group, a vision group and an operations group, with members from the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the College of Economics and Management, etc., with a multidisciplinary professional background. In preparation for the competition, the team members worked around the clock to overcome difficulties, sacrificing their holidays and extra time to work on the robot. During the match, the team members were calm and collected, and were brave enough to overcome and surpass themselves, showing the elegance of NEFU students.
