Recently, the National Competition of Transport Science and Technology for Students, co-sponsored by China Institute of Communications Education, China Communications and Transportation Association and the Steering Committee of Ministry of Education for Higher Education Transportation Courses, came to an end at Wuyi University, and NEFU teams won 3 second prizes and a third prize.

The theme of this year’s competition is “High Quality Development, Innovation for the Future.” Since its official launch in February 2023, the competition has attracted more than 100 universities with more than 1,100 works, and among which 235 works have entered the national finals after expert evaluation. The School of Civil Engineering and Transportation hosted the NEFU internal selection and recommended 17 works, among which 4 works were selected as finalists. Under the guidance of instructors, the teams prepared for the competition for more than 6 months, designing prototypes, collecting data and writing application reports. In the final defense, the teams introduced the design process, innovation and application in detail, and answered the questions raised by the experts, demonstrating the solid theoretical foundation, good scientific literacy and teamwork spirit of the NEFU students. In the end, NEFU works “Easy Walker - Contact Power Supply System for Electric Vehicles Based on Virtual Rail Technology,” “A Parameter Acquisition and Communication Positioning System for Forest Firefighting Vehicles” and “Transmit - Highly Efficient Electric/Manual Combined Power Supply System”won the second prize, and the work “Three Chambers of Evaluation – A Driver Status Monitoring System Based on Multi-information Fusion Technology” won the third prize.

The NACtranS is a top-level event with the largest number of participating universities and students in transportation engineering discipline and the greatest influence in China, and it is also the competition item within the list of the national competitions for students in colleges and universities. Combined with the construction of a strong country in science and technology, quality and transportation, the competition takes the scientific themes of safe, convenient, efficient, green and economic transportation engineering as the carrier, builds a platform for national college students to exchange science and technology culture, and cultivates their scientific literacy, innovation consciousness, practical ability and team spirit.
