From 2 June to 4 June 2023, the Heilongjiang College Students Badminton Championship was held at Harbin Institute of Technology and NEFU’s badminton team won the team championship, women’s singles championship, men’s singles third place and mixed doubles third place.

The competition included one team event and six individual events. Nearly 500 athletes from 29 university teams, including Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin Engineering University, Heilongjiang University and Northeast Agricultural University, participated in the competition, which was by far the largest number of teams and athletes for this event.

Under the leadership of team leader Guan Dapeng and coach Liang Fusheng, NEFU’s team of 16 students won the team championship. In addition, team member Xia Jiabin won the women’s singles championship, Qiu Junyuan came third in the men’s singles, Yang Zihan and Lan Yunzhu came third in the mixed doubles, Yu Xipeng, Xia Jiabin and Yang Zihan came third in the 3V3, and Yu Xi and Zhang Jiayuan came fifth in the women’s doubles.

In the team competition, NEFU defeated Harbin Medical University, Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Harbin University of Commerce, Jiamusi University and Heilongjiang University to finally meet the host, Harbin Institute of Technology, in the final. Faced with the strong opponent, NEFU’s team members fought hard and won the final match with a calm mind and excellent skills. This is the second time in 11 years that NEFU has won the team title in this event!

Whether it was the preparation before the competition or competing for NEFU on the playing field, everyone was united and tenacious, fully reflecting the cohesive, hard-working and enterprising spirit of the NEFU people.
