“It is my great honor to come to the second classroom of Tailai County No. 3 Middle School as a teacher again. I hope that the students will gain knowledge and happiness through learning, which is my greatest encouragement.”Arthur said after finishing his second volunteer teaching course.

On the afternoon of June 30th, Arthur, a Yemeni postgraduate student of NEFU’s Volunteer Teaching Team of International Students, gave a special online international culture lecture to more than 100 second-year students of Tailai County No. 3 Middle School.

In the class, Arthur vividly and comprehensively introduce the geography, customs, food, clothing, etc.of his hometown—Yemen in English, and led the students to experience different foreign cultures. In the interactive session, Arthur taught the students to say “Hello” and “Welcome” in Arabic. The students followed carefully under active classroom atmosphere.This volunteer teaching has enriched Mr. Arthur’s experience, and inspired him to gradually explore his own special teaching method. “I need to interact after introducing one knowledge point, which can better activate the classroom atmosphere and impress students deeply,” he concluded. After class, Arthur assigned homework to the students and urged them to consolidate what they had learned.

“Ms. Arthur’s class not only helped us improve our oral English and listening skills, but also allowed us to understand foreign customs and broaden our horizons. I hope that we can continue to participate in such courses in the future.” Students from Tailai County No. 3 Middle School said to their teacher.

In recent years, NEFU has organized the Volunteer Teaching Team of International Students to teach in primary and secondary schools of Heilongjiang province for many times, bringing various international culture into the classrooms of primary and secondary students, and contributing to cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries and the development of education in Heilongjiang province for the new era.
