On November 19th, the 11th “National College Student Environmental Resources Moot Court Competition” was successfully concluded at Tianjin University. This event was organized by the National “2011 Plan” Judicial Civilization Collaborative Innovation Center, the Chinese Association for Environmental Protection, the Supreme People’s Court’s Research Center for Environmental and Resource Justice, and Tianjin University. It was hosted by the Law School of Tianjin University and co-sponsored by the Beijing Anli (Tianjin) Law Firm. Teams from 43 universities, including Wuhan University and China University of Political Science and Law, participated in the competition. The team from NEFU’s School of Humanities and Law earned a National Second Prize.

The moot court competition was divided into two stages: a written submission phase and a trial court phase. After receiving the competition topic, the team from NEFU’s School of Humanities and Law, under the guidance of Dean Zhu Wenyu and Vice Dean Zou Limei, and with instructors Wang Hongwei, Fan Junrong, and Jing Zhen, prepared for the competition. The team of competitors, comprised of Zhu Bozhi, Zhang Zhiguo, Chen Limin, Lin Chunrui, Hu Xiyang, Du Mingxuan, Wang Hanqing, and Liu Qi, excelled in the written submission phase, advancing to the top 16. They were narrowly defeated in the quarterfinals by the team from Shanghai University of Political Science and Law, who were the runners-up of this competition, resulting in NEFU’s team securing the national second prize. Zhu Bozhi won the Outstanding Debate Award, and Wang Hongwei received the Outstanding Instructor Award.
