Recently, the grand finals of the 12th National Undergraduate Digital Media Technology and Creative Works Competition concluded at the Chengdu Science Fiction Museum. Among nearly 140,000 entries nationwide, two projects from NEFU stood out, earning the prestigious National First Prize.
The National Undergraduate Digital Media Technology and Creative Works Competition, recognized as a key event in the Ministry of Education's National Undergraduate Competition Analysis Report, aims to inspire innovation and entrepreneurship among students in intelligent technology and digital creativity while enhancing practical skills. This year, the Environmental Design Program of the School of Home and Art Design organized NEFU's participation.
During the Heilongjiang Provincial Competition, NEFU students demonstrated solid professional skills, profound design concepts, and unique presentation styles. They achieved 13 awards, including 3 first prizes, 7 second prizes, and 4 third prizes. Among the accolades, 9 awards were in Residential Environment Design, 1 in E-book Illustration Design, 1 in the Rural Revitalization and Technology Empowerment category, 1 in Digital Art Expression, and 1 in Smart Software and Hardware Creative Works. These results highlight the exceptional overall strength of NEFU students in design.
Following the nomination by the Heilongjiang Organizing Committee and approval by the National Organizing Committee, two projects from NEFU were selected from nearly 140,000 entries nationwide to compete for the top awards. In the national finals, both of NEFU’s teams delivered outstanding performances during their offline presentations, earning high praise from the expert judges. Both teams secured National First Prizes in their respective categories. Additionally, NEFU received seven National Third Prizes. Teachers Shao Zhuofeng and Tian Yuan were honored with the title of "National Outstanding Mentors."
The Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence and the National Undergraduate Digital Media Technology and Creative Works Competition Organizing Committee hosted the competition, with Chengdu University of Technology and 42 other universities nationwide serving as co-organizers. The event also featured several related activities, including the "2024 4th Innovation Forum on High-Quality Talent Development in Intelligent Technology and Digital Creativity under the Era of 'Smart+,'" the "2024 12th National Undergraduate Digital Media Technology and Creative Works National Finals Award Ceremony," and the "Innovative China: 10,000 Enterprises and 1,000 Universities Action to Promote Employment—2024 High-Quality Employment Initiative for Smart Media Talent."
